DREMOF Hands Over Lecture Hall to University of Port Harcourt

The Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji Foundation officially hands over a fully built and furnished lecture hall to support education and empower communities.

On December 17, 2024, the Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji Foundation (DREMOF) officially handed over a lecture hall to the University of Port Harcourt; fully built and furnished. Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji, the founder of DREMOF, expressed that the lecture hall was not just a building but a symbol of the DREMOF's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for future generations. He emphasized DREMOF's ongoing efforts to improve education, healthcare and environmental sustainability in marginalized communities and the world at large.

Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill, Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, expressed his deep appreciation for the generous donation, noting that the new lecture hall would greatly support the academic needs of the university and provide a modern space for students and staff. He praised DREMOF’s unwavering commitment to educational development and thanked the Foundation for their partnership with the university.

Mr. Esueme Dan Kikile, General Manager of Corporate Communications who represented the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), also attended and commended DREMOF for the donation. He stressed the importance of collaborations between academia and industry to enhance the learning experience, noting that the lecture hall would play a significant role in fostering learning and research at the university. He called on other organizations to support Nigeria’s education system in a similar manner.

Mrs. Olabisi Membere-Otaji, Vice President of DREMOF, reflected on the Foundation’s achievements, expressing pride in how far they have come in a short period. She described the lecture hall as a fitting way to end the year, marking a significant milestone in the Foundation’s journey of supporting education and empowering communities.

The event also saw the presence of Chief Dr. C.I.T Numbere-Princewill, Regent of Kalabari Kingdom, along with members of the University’s governing council, staff, student leaders, Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, support groups from Kalabari Kingdom, the DREMOF management support team and other distinguished guests.
